Self Assessment

This is the first step of the program and it is designed to determine your Program Certification Level. It provides you with an opportunity to demonstrate the scale of your past experience and achievements and accurate completion of the Self Assessment is essential for your professional Certification as well as career development since it provides a benchmark for your current performance and helps identify the skills and knowledge needed for your continued professional development.

To ensure objectivity and the value of the Self-Assessment, we require an independent validation of your Self Assessment by a Reviewer who is familiar with your work and at a suitable level of authority. Please provide examples for all of the points you claim in your Self Assessment, as this supporting information will assist the Reviewer.

Reviewer Assignment

If you have not had a Reviewer pre-assigned,your first step will be to nominate a Reviewer by following our on-screen instructions. Please note that we verify all Reviewer nominations to ensure the integrity oft the review process.

This typically takes up to 24 hours although there may be a delay during weekends or holidays. Your Self Assessment cannot be submitted for review until your Reviewer is approved. We appreciate your patience. The Self-Assessment is a straightforward process and the on-screen instructions are easy to follow. When you have completed the Self Assessment, click ‘submit’ and an automated email will be sent to your Reviewer to request the review of your Self Assessment.

When self-assessment is submitted, an email will be automatically generated to let manager/reviewer know they have a review outstanding.

Your Program Level

All SRM candidates start at the Practitioner Level. As soon as your Reviewer submits the review, the Learning Portal generates your Personal Report which will be available to you after you select the Certification Program. The Personal Report provides you with direct feedback on your Self-Assessment and highlights the areas of your training where you may wish to focus.

Your Certification Level (Practitioner, Advanced Practitioner or Expert) All SRM candidates start at the Practitioner Level; successful candidates are able to progress to the next level after one year and successful demonstration of appropriate experience via the skills assessment. We assess the Skills and Experience through an on-line Self Assessment, validated by your nominated reviewer and therefore it must be accurately completed with examples provided for each claimed point.

Please note that certain fields of the assessment like, for example, the range of contract types in which you have experience or the extent of business acumen and the level of professional contribution are especially important to this determination. Learning, including the Module Tests, Certification Examination and Message Board requirements.

You must achieve the pass mark required for your Program Level. Scoring a higher pass mark for the Certification Examination will not qualify you for a higher level of certification. If you qualified for the Expert program, you will be asked to complete a Case Study. This is accompanied by detailed instructions including the required pass mark. If you do not achieve this pass mark, you will be certified at Practitioner level.
